Rare Materials: A Novel
Derek spends his time streaming his depressed mother's dreams and rifling through her old reporter transcripts until one day, he discovers the sublime and reality-altering fashion accessories designed by famed eccentric, Shavree Eliot. He becomes obsessed with possessing her gold, diamond-encrusted prosthetic and sets off on a path of intricate deception. He finds himself in the center of a dreamscape of divine horror orchestrated for Shavree's final exhibition. Weaved through the backroads of Mississippi and a budding neurocity of technological wonders, RARE MATERIALS depicts the stomach-turning and surreal evolution of art, the ravages of trauma on the body and mind, and the undying loyalty of family.
